ABOUT
The Story Monsters Approved book designation program recognizes and honors authors in the field of children’s literature whose books inspire, inform, teach, or entertain. What makes this book program unique is that every book submitted is judged on its own merit. Each book competes only with itself. And since kids assist our industry experts in judging submissions, when a book earns the Story Monsters Seal of Approval, it means that children are recommending the book for other children to read, too!
BOOK OF THE YEAR
One deserving title that is outstanding in content, readability, message, and overall production will be selected for the honor of Story Monsters Approved Book of the Year. This is a book truly worth devouring!
HOW TO ENTER
It’s Time to Get Approved
We are accepting entries for the 2025 Story Monsters Approved book designation program.
To get started, click on the “Enter Now” button below.
A separate form must be completed for each book that you submit, but the same form may be used if a book is entered into multiple categories. Simply change the quantity to indicate the number of categories for the book, then click “Add to Cart".”
If entering more than one book, after the form is completed for the first book, click on the “Add to Cart” button and then begin the process again.
You will receive a confirmation email once you've completed your order. Print out a copy of this email and include it with your mailed submissions.
Contest entries accepted in 2 formats: printed book or ebook.
Printed:
$70 per category on or before November 1, 2024.
$75 per category after February 1, 2025.
eBook:
$60 per category on or before November 1, 2024.
$65 per category after February 1, 2025.
DEADLINES
Early Bird Deadline: November 1, 2024 ($70 per category)
Final Deadline: February 1, 2025 ($75 per category)
Submission Postmark Deadline: Submissions must be postmarked no later than Saturday, February 1, 2025. Any submission postmarked after February 1, 2025, will be entered into the following year’s contest.
Announcement of Winners: Contest winners will be notified during the last week of March for each year’s contest.
